On-board computer (vehicles with 4-button multi-function steering wheel)

Points to remember

The on-board computer is activated as soon as the key is turned to position 1 in the ignition lock. You can use the on-board computer to call up information relating to your vehicle and to make and adjust settings.

Risk of accident

Only use the on-board computer when road and traffic conditions permit. You would otherwise be distracted and unable to concentrate properly on driving, and could cause an accident.

 

Multi-function steering wheel (4 buttons)

Use the buttons on the multi-function steering wheel to operate the on-board computer.

Multi-function display

  • Increases the volume

  • Sets the date/time

  • Decreases the volume

  • Sets the date/time

  • Selects a submenu

  • Scrolls through lists

  • Confirms a selection

  • Press briefly: selects a menu

  • Press and hold: selects the standard display

The arrangement of the menus can be envisaged as a circle.

The number of menus shown depends on the optional equipment in the vehicle.

Use the buttons on the multi-function steering wheel.

Standard display

The basic setting shows the trip meter and the total distance recorder in the multi-function display. This is the standard display.

  

Press the button repeatedly until the standard display appears.

To reset the trip meter: press button repeatedly until the standard display appears.

  

Press and hold the button until the value has been reset.

To reset the trip computer: press and hold the button until the values have been reset.

Displays the range and current fuel consumption

  

Press the button repeatedly until the approximate range and current fuel consumption appears.

The approximate range which can be covered depends on the tank's contents and your current driving style. If there is only a small amount of fuel left in the tank, the display shows a vehicle being refuelled instead of the range .

Message memory

The on-board computer stores certain display messages. You can call up display messages in this menu.

Risk of accident

The on-board computer only records and displays messages and warnings from certain systems. For this reason, you should always make sure that your vehicle is safe to drive. You could otherwise cause an accident by driving an unsafe vehicle.

  

Press the button repeatedly until the "Message memory" menu appears.

 

If there are no display messages, you will see No messages. If there are messages, you will see 2 messages, for example, in the multi-function display.

  

Press the button to scroll through the display messages.

All possible display messages are explained in the "Practical advice" section more.

All display messages are deleted when you turn off the ignition.

Time/date

This menu is only available on vehicles without audio system or with Audio 20*.

Your vehicle could have the following audio system*:

Audio 50 APS*

  

You can see which audio system* is fitted in your vehicle by referring to the separate operating instructions.

Depending on the audio system* fitted, time and date are received from GPS satellites and therefore cannot be set using the on-board computer; see the following table.

Press the button repeatedly until the "Time/date" menu appears.

  

To set: use the button to select the display you want to change: hour, minutes, day, month, year.

  

Press or to set the selected display.

  

To save: press the button.

 

The next display is selected.
