Interior motion sensor* (Cabriolet)

The interior motion sensor is only available in certain countries.

A visual and audible alarm is triggered if your vehicle is locked and a movement is detected in the vehicle interior, e.g. if someone breaks your vehicle's side window or reaches into the vehicle interior.

Make sure the side windows and the stowage compartments under the top of the armrest are closed.

Lock the vehicle with the key or, on vehicles with KEYLESS GO*, with the locking button on the door handle.

The interior motion sensor is primed after approximately 30 seconds.

In some countries the interior motion sensor is activated even if the soft top is open. The vehicle should only be parked with the soft top closed, however, to prevent false alarms in the event of falling leaves or insects for example.

Do not leave any objects, such as mascots, attached to the rear-view mirror. These could otherwise trigger false alarms.

Do not leave any objects on the top of the armrest on the centre console. The interior motion sensor could otherwise be impaired.

Do not leave any metallic objects which are touching each other, such as a bunch of keys, lying around in or next to the top of the armrest or the stowage compartment between the rear seats. These could otherwise trigger false alarms. Use a different lockable stowage compartment for that purpose.
