If the windscreen becomes dirty in dry weather conditions, the windscreen wipers may be activated inadvertently. This could then damage the windscreen wiper blades or scratch the windscreen.
For this reason, you should always switch off the windscreen wipers in dry weather.

Turn the key to position 1 or 2 in the ignition lock.
The various wiper settings can be selected as follows:

Single wipe

Briefly press the combination switch in the direction of arrow  to the pressure point.

Wiping with windscreen washer fluid

Press the combination switch beyond the pressure point in the direction of arrow .
|
Intermittent wipe (position I) / rain sensor
| |
Turn the combination switch to position I in the direction of arrow  .
|

The rain sensor is activated. The appropriate wiping frequency is set automatically according to the intensity of the rain.

Wiping is interrupted as soon as the vehicle is stationary and the driver's or front-passenger door is opened. This protects people getting into and out of the vehicle from being sprayed with water.

Continuous wipe, slow (position II) / continuous wipe, fast (position III)

Depending on the intensity of the rain, turn the combination switch in the direction of arrow to position II or III.

Switching off the windscreen wipers

Turn the combination switch to position 0.
