Opening and closing the soft-top (Cabriolet)
For safety reasons, the soft-top can only be opened and closed if the vehicle is stationary.

Only drive with the soft top completely open or closed.
If the soft top does not open or close completely, the soft top hydraulics are depressurised and the soft top is lowered
A warning tone sounds shortly beforehand. The Top being opened message appears in the multi-function display.
Lock the soft top again before driving on. Otherwise the unlocked soft top could open during the journey and cause you to lose control of your vehicle. You or other persons could be injured as a result.

Never sit down on the soft top compartment cover and do not store any heavy objects on it. You will otherwise damage the soft top and soft top compartment cover of the vehicle.

|
When opening and closing the soft top, make sure that:
-
there is sufficient clearance above it, as the soft top swings upwards
-
the boot is only loaded to below the boot separator
-
the boot separator is not pushed up by the load
-
the boot separator is closed
-
the skibag cover is closed
-
no objects are on the soft-top compartment cover
-
the roll-over bar has not been activated
-
the boot lid is closed
-
the fabric is not frozen
-
the soft top is not dirty or wet
You will otherwise damage the soft top and other parts of the vehicle.

With the soft-top switch

Make sure nobody is trapped or injured by moving parts such as the soft top linkage or soft top compartment cover when opening or closing the soft top.
Release the soft top switch in the event of danger. The soft top mechanism stops immediately.

Opening

Make sure the soft-top is dry before you open it. Otherwise, water could enter the interior or boot.
|
|
Engage the parking brake more.
|
|
Make sure that the boot separator is closed more.
|
|
Make sure the skibag cover is closed more.
|
|
Close the boot lid.
|
|
Make sure that the key is in position 2 in the ignition lock.
|
|
Pull the soft-top switch in the direction of arrow until the entire soft-top is stowed away in the boot.

The Top in operation message appears in the multi-function display.

|
The side windows close if you keep on pulling the soft-top switch.
The side windows can be closed by pulling the soft-top switch twice. Pull once briefly and the second time as long as it takes for the side windows to reach the desired position.

Closing
|
Engage the parking brake more.

Make sure that the boot separator is closed more.
|
|
Make sure the skibag cover is closed more.
|
|
Close the boot lid.
|
|
Make sure that the key is in position 2 in the ignition lock.
|
|
Press the soft-top switch in the direction of arrow until the soft-top is completely closed.

The side windows close if you keep on pressing the soft-top switch.
You can open the side windows by pressing the soft-top switch twice. Press once briefly and the second time as long as it takes for the side windows to reach the desired position.

With the key

Opening
|
Point the tip of the key at the door handle.
|
|
Press the button on the key until the soft-top is completely open.
|

The Top in operation message appears in the multi-function display. The seat ventilation* is switched on. The rear side windows open.

Closing
|
Point the tip of the key at the door handle.
|
|
Press the button on the key until the soft-top is completely closed.
|
| |
The Top in operation message appears in the multi-function display. The soft-top and the side windows close.
|
Re-locking the soft-top
The soft-top is not locked if:
The soft-top can be locked again if it is not completely locked.
Before driving on
|
Make sure that the key is in position 2 in the ignition lock.
|
|
Press the soft-top switch.
|
While driving
|
Stop the vehicle immediately, paying attention to road and traffic conditions.
|
|
Press the soft-top switch.
|
Boot separator
The boot separator can be used to cover luggage and loads in the boot.

|
To avoid damage to the soft top or load when folding back the soft top:
-
only load the boot to below the boot separator
-
do not place any objects on or in front of the boot separator
-
do not place any objects behind the lateral nets if the boot separator is open
-
do not allow the load to push up the boot separator

Pull back boot separator by the handle until it engages on both sides in the luggage compartment lip.

Opening the boot separator
|
Push the boot separator forwards by handle until it engages.
|
|
Press the release button in the handle of the boot separator.
|

The boot separator is unlocked.
|
|
Pull the boot separator up out of the eyelets on the luggage compartment lip.
|
|
Push the boot separator forwards by the handle in the opposite direction of the arrow.

Skibag cover*
The skibag cover is in the boot.

|
Do not put anything behind the lateral nets if the skibag cover is open. You could forget the objects there and cause damage when operating the soft top.

Draught stop* (Cabriolet)
The draught stop is a wind protection device for driving with the soft-top open. It is located in a bag in the boot.

Fold back the top part of the draught stop if it restricts your vision or when it is dark. It could otherwise impair your rear view. You could cause an accident because of this.

|
Observe the backrest position of the front seats if the draught stop is installed, since the backrest could collide with the draught stop here.
|
Installing
|
Take the draught stop out of the bag.
|
Removing
|
Fold the top part of the draught stop onto the bottom part.
|
|
Push catch to the left and into position .
|
|
Take the draught stop out of the vehicle.
|
|
Fold in the retaining lugs.
|
|

|
|
Push locking bolt to the right and fold back the top and bottom parts of the draught stop.
|
|
Stow the draught stop so that it is protected it from damage, for example, in the bag in the boot.
