Loading and stowing
Cup holder
 | Risk of injury |
|
Keep the cup holder closed while the vehicle is in motion. Otherwise, vehicle occupants could be injured by objects being thrown around if you:
Only use the cup holders for containers of the right size and which have lids. Otherwise, the drinks could spill.
Cup holders should not be used for hot drinks. Otherwise, you may scald yourself.

Roof rack system* (Coupé)
 | Risk of accident |
|
An incorrectly secured roof rack or load could work loose from the vehicle and thereby cause an accident. Follow the roof rack manufacturer's installation instructions and special instructions for use.
The roof load raises the vehicle's centre of gravity, thereby affecting vehicle handling. You must observe the maximum roof load of 100 kg. Always adapt your driving style to the prevailing road, traffic and weather conditions and drive with particular care if the roof is laden.
|
 | |
|
Mercedes-Benz roof racks have been specially developed and tested in accordance with Mercedes-Benz standards. These roof racks comply with DIN standard 75302 and are additionally subjected to crash and durability tests.
|
 | |
|
Mercedes-Benz recommends that you only use roof rack systems which have been tested and approved for Mercedes-Benz. This helps to prevent damage to the vehicle.
Position the load on the roof rack in such a way that the vehicle is not damaged, even when it is in motion.
Please note that, depending on the vehicle's equipment, you can raise the sliding/tilting sunroof* and open the boot lid completely.
|
|
 | Covers |
|
|
Fold out cover in the direction of the arrow.
|
|
Only secure the roof rack to the anchorage points under covers .
Observe the manufacturer's installation instructions included with the roof rack.
|
Skibag*
 | Risk of injury |
|
You can transport up to four pairs of skis in the Coupé and up to two pairs of skis in the Cabriolet. Only use the skibag to transport skis.
Always fasten the skibag when it is loaded. Otherwise you or others could be injured in the event of an accident.

Removing the skibag (Coupé)
The skibag can be removed for cleaning or drying.
 | Risk of poisoning |
|
When the skibag has been removed, always drive with the boot lid closed. Exhaust fumes could otherwise enter the vehicle interior.
|
|
Open the boot lid.
|
Luggage net in the front-passenger footwell
 | Risk of injury |
|
Only place lightweight objects in the luggage net. Do not use it to transport heavy, sharp-edged or fragile objects. The luggage net cannot secure the objects sufficiently in the event of an accident.
|
Loading guidelines (Coupé)
 | Risk of injury |
|
Secure and position the load as described in the loading guidelines.
Otherwise, vehicle occupants could be injured by the load being thrown around in the event of sharp braking, a sudden change in direction or an accident. This also applies to seats which have been removed.
You will find further information in the “Securing a load” section.
Even if you follow all the loading guidelines, the load will increase the risk of injury in the event of an accident.
|
The handling characteristics of a laden vehicle are dependent on the distribution of the load within the vehicle. You should therefore load your vehicle as shown in the illustrations.
Observe the following notes when transporting a load:
-
When transporting a load, never exceed the maximum permissible gross vehicle weight or the permissible axle loads for the vehicle (including occupants).
-
Position heavy loads as far forwards and as low in the boot as possible.
-
The load must not protrude above the upper edge of the backrests.
-
Always place the load directly up against the front or rear seat backrests.
-
Always place the load behind unoccupied seats if possible.
-
Secure the load with sufficiently strong and wear-resistant load restraints. Pad sharp edges for protection.
 | |
|
Load restraints are available at any qualified specialist workshop, e.g. a Mercedes-Benz Service Centre.
|
Anchoring loads (Coupé)
Lashing eyelets
 | Risk of injury |
|
Spread the load evenly between the lashing eyelets. Observe the loading guidelines.
|
Observe the following notes on securing loads:
-
Secure the load using the lashing eyelets.
-
Do not use elastic straps or nets to secure a load as these are only intended as an anti-slip protection for light loads.
-
If you are using tensioning straps, only use straps with a minimum permissible tensile strength of 600 daN and a percentage elongation of approximately 7 %.
-
Do not route lashing materials across sharp edges or corners.
-
Pad sharp edges for protection.
-
Load the anchorages evenly.
-
Use all the lashing eyelets if possible.
-
Do not overload the lashing eyelets if you are using tensioning devices.
-
Please read and observe the operating instructions for the load restraints used.

Through-loading feature for rear bench seat (Coupé)
The left-hand and right-hand rear seats can be folded down to increase the boot capacity.
 | Risk of injury |
|
Do not carry heavy or hard objects inside the vehicle or in the boot unless they are secured.
Otherwise, you and other vehicle occupants could be injured by objects being thrown around the vehicle in the event of sharp braking, a sudden change in direction or an accident.
|
 | Risk of poisoning |
|
Always drive with the boot lid closed. Exhaust fumes could otherwise enter the vehicle interior.

|
 | Risk of injury |
|
Make sure that the backrest is correctly locked in position. The red lock verification indicators on the left and right-hand sides should no longer be visible. If they are visible, the backrests are not locked in position.
Occupants could then be injured in the event of an accident, e.g. by objects being thrown forwards out of the boot.
|
 | |
|
You should always engage the backrests if you do not require the through-loading feature. This will prevent access to the boot from the vehicle interior.
|
Stowage well under the boot floor
TIREFIT, the vehicle tool kit, etc. are located in the stowage well.
 | |
|
Unhook the handle before closing the boot, as you could otherwise damage the handle.
|
Stowage compartments
 | Risk of injury |
|
The stowage compartments must be closed when items are stored in them. Luggage nets are not designed to secure heavy items of luggage.
You or other vehicle occupants could be injured by objects being thrown around if you:
Sharp-edged and fragile objects must not be carried in the luggage net.
Do not carry hard objects in the ruffled pockets. Objects must not protrude over the top of the ruffled pockets.
|
 | |
|
Cabriolet with sound system*:
Ensure that no objects get into the two openings of the subwoofer between the rear seats. Otherwise you could damage the speaker.
If you need to remove a foreign object, visit a qualified specialist, such as a Mercedes-Benz Service Centre.
