  • Have the roll-over bars been activated?

  • Is the boot lid closed?

  • Is the on-board voltage sufficient?

    Start the engine if necessary.

If automatic operation still does not work, the soft-top can be closed manually.

This work must be performed by two persons.

The soft-top emergency operation is a complex, technically sophisticated process which requires a great deal of force. Close the soft-top manually only in extreme emergencies. In this situation it is better to get in touch with a qualified specialist workshop, e.g. a Mercedes-Benz Service Centre.

Risk of injury
  • Remove any wristwatches and jewellery such as rings or bracelets. You could otherwise get caught, injured and damage the vehicle.

  • Always grip the soft top at the indicated gripping points for the emergency operation of the soft top. You could otherwise be injured.

Depress the parking brake.
