Minimising the risk of injury
In a frontal collision, the steering column can be a source of injury. To reduce this risk, Mercedes-Benz Vans are equipped with a safety steering column which is provided with different joints as well as two telescopic sections that yield in an impact. The front-end structure of the vehicle is designed to deform under impact while the steering column maintains its defined position in front of the driver.
