Stowage without gaps
Direct load restraint means loading articles directly against the front or rear bulkheads and the sides of the vehicle. This is usually achieved by stowing the load without gaps. Alternatively, aids such as restraint bars or partition nets can also be used. The load is restrained either by the vehicle structure itself or by the securing aids. The following should be observed:

on all sides the load should be stowed without gaps against the body of the vehicle,

all articles of cargo should be strong enough to withstand the loading forces,

the articles should be stowed in such a way that they are not able to move,

strong items of cargo should be placed in front of, behind and alongside heavy items.

If any one of these requirements is not met, the load must additionally be restrained by securing devices or tie-downs!
