Atego Online Operating Instruction

Communications

Telephone

The vehicle can be equipped with a universal hands-free system. In order to use the mobile phone with the hands-free system, a holder that is suitable for the mobile phone must be fitted. These are available from retailers of Mercedes-Benz accessories.

Risk of accident

You must observe the legal requirements in the country in which you are driving when operating mobile communications equipment in the vehicle.

If it is legally permitted to operate mobile communications equipment while the vehicle is in motion, you must only operate it when road and traffic conditions permit. You could otherwise be distracted from the traffic conditions, cause an accident and injure yourself and others.

Mobile communication devices (e. g. mobile phones, radio equipment or fax machines) not fitted with low-reflection exterior aerials may affect the vehicle's on-board electrical system, jeopardising the operational safety of the vehicle as well as your own safety. Therefore, only use these devices if they are correctly connected to a separate, low-reflection exterior aerial.

If phones, radio equipment or fax machines are subsequently installed in the vehicle, the Mercedes-Benz installation specifications must be observed. In cases where they are not, this can cause the vehicle's operating permit to be revoked (EU Directive 2006/28/EC).

Observe the country-specific legal requirements.
