Lighting

Light switch

The light switch is used to switch the following on and off: headlamps, front foglamps, tail lamps, licence plate illumination and rear foglamp.

To switch on the front foglamps
To switch on the front and rear foglamps
Lights switched off/daytime driving lights switched on
Side lights, switch illumination switched on
Dipped-beam headlamps/main-beam headlamps (depending on the combination switch position)
Front foglamp indicator lamp (green)
Rear foglamp indicator lamp (yellow)

Switching on the lights

  

Turn the vehicle key to the drive position in the ignition lock.

Dipped-beam headlamp

The dipped-beam headlamps are asymmetrical. For this reason, in countries where vehicles drive on the other side of the road to the country where the vehicle is registered, there is a danger of oncoming traffic being dazzled. Mask the headlamps partially when driving in these countries more.

  

Turn the light switch to the position.

 

The dipped-beam headlamps are switched on.

Daytime driving lights

In some countries, daytime driving lights are required by law.

  

Turn the light switch to the position.

 

The dipped-beam headlamps, side lamps and licence plate lighting are switched on when the engine is running.

Main-beam headlamp
  

Switch on the dipped-beam headlamps.

  

Push the combination switch on the left of the steering column forwards and engage.

 

The main-beam headlamps are switched on. The indicator lamp in the instrument cluster lights up.

Front fog lamps and rear fog lamp

Turn the light switch to the or position.

  

To switch on the front foglamps: pull the light switch out to position .

 

The front foglamp indicator lamp next to the light switch lights up.

To switch on the front and rear foglamps: pull the light switch out to position .

 

The front foglamp indicator lamp and rear foglamp indicator lamp next to the light switch light up.

 

Headlamp range adjustment

When the vehicle is laden, the light/dark boundary for the dipped-beam headlamps rises.

Always adjust the headlamp range control so that oncoming traffic is not dazzled.

 

Turn signals

Right-hand turn signal
Left-hand turn signal
  

To indicate briefly: press the combination switch in the direction of arrow or to the pressure point and hold it.

Press the combination switch briefly in the direction of arrow or .

 

The respective turn signals flash 3 times.

  

To indicate: press combination switch in the direction of arrow or beyond the pressure point.

 

Interior lighting

Low-roof cab interior light

Reading lamp

Continuous operation interior lighting
  

Press the switch to the desired position.

 

In position the interior lighting switches on when the driver's or co-driver's door is opened.

High-roof cab interior lighting

Driver's side reading lamp/nightlight switch

  

To switch on the driver's side reading lamp: move the driver's side reading lamp/nightlight switch upwards.

  

To switch on the nightlight: move the reading lamp/nightlight switch downwards.

  

To switch off the driver's side reading lamp/nightlight: move the driver's side reading lamp/nightlight switch to the neutral position.

Interior lighting switch

  

To switch on the interior lighting: press the upper section of the interior lighting switch.

  

To switch on the interior lighting automatically: press the lower section of the interior lighting switch.

 

The interior lighting switches on when the driver's or co-driver's door is opened.

  

To switch off the interior lighting: move the interior lighting switch to the neutral position.

To switch on the co-driver's reading lamp
To switch off the co-driver's reading lamp
  

To switch on the co-driver's side reading lamp: press switch .

  

To switch off the co-driver's side reading lamp: press switch .

Reading lamp, berth

  

To switch on: press the lower section of the berth reading lamp.

  

To switch off: press the upper section of the berth reading lamp.

 

Exterior lighting

Manoeuvring assistance working-area lights

Risk of accident

Do not use the working-area lights when on public roads. You could otherwise dazzle other road others and thus cause an accident.

When the manoeuvring assistance working-area lights are switched on, the area in front of the rear wheels is lit up. The lamps can only be switched on if the vehicle lighting is switched on as well.

Press the switch for the manoeuvring assistance working-area lights at the bottom.

 

The manoeuvring assistance working-area lights are switched off.
