Cigarette lighter

Risk of fire and accident

You could suffer burns from contact with the hot cigarette lighter. Only hold the hot cigarette lighter by the knob.

Remove the cigarette lighter if children are travelling in the vehicle. Children could sustain injuries from the hot cigarette lighter or start a fire.

You must always pay attention to road and traffic conditions. You could otherwise cause an accident and injure yourself and others. Only use the cigarette lighter when road and traffic conditions permit.

24V socket with cigarette lighter

You can also use the 24V socket with cigarette lighter as a power source for electrical devices up to 100W.

Smoke detector

The smoke detector warns you of smoke in the cab. An alarm could also be triggered by particles in cigarette smoke, dust or exhaust fumes, for example.

The smoke detector is located either above the driver's door or on the cabin ceiling behind the driver.

A brief tone sounds every 40 seconds while the smoke detector is deactivated.

Smoke detector function test

Risk of poisoning and injury

There is a risk of the smoke detector failing to warn of fire or smoke in good time if you do not test the smoke detector regularly for correct function or replace the batteries in good time. You could then be injured or suffer smoke poisoning.

Check the smoke detector once a week.

Press and hold function key for 5 - 10 seconds.

If functioning correctly, an alarm will sound for as long as you press the button. The smoke detector is deactivated for approximately 20 minutes after the button is pressed.

If the battery is discharged, a short tone will sound roughly every 40 seconds. Replace the battery as soon as possible in order to ensure that the smoke detector remains operational.

Changing the battery

The smoke detector runs on a 9 V block battery.

Press release button and remove the smoke detector from the bracket.

Risk of injury

Do not transport heavy items, e.g. bottles, in the stowage spaces and compartments.

The stowage spaces and compartments must be closed and locked while the vehicle is in motion. Otherwise, you or other vehicle occupants could be injured by objects being thrown around the vehicle in the event of an accident, braking or a sudden change in direction.

Sockets

Depending on the vehicle's equipment, either 12V or 24V sockets may be installed in the centre console.

Risk of fire

Do not insert a cigarette lighter in the 12V or 24V socket. The socket is not designed for this purpose and could therefore start a fire.

12V sockets (example)

The maximum load for each of the 12V sockets is 180W.

The maximum load for each of the 24V sockets is 360W.

Voltage transformer

All the electrical consumers connected to the 12 V socket can be switched on and off using the 24 V/12 V voltage transformer switch.

Axle load measuring device

The axle load measuring system transfers the axle load from the pressure in the air spring bellows, if the chassis frame is in driving position.

The axle load measuring device is not calibrated nor is it a system capable of calibration. The measured data only provides an approximate guide which is not suitable for official use.

In order to avoid inaccuracies in measuring, make sure that the vehicle is uniformly laden.

If the axle load indicator is called up and the chassis frame is not in driving position, then the arrows in level control display flash. The display does not show axle loads.

Calling up the axle load indicator

The axle load indicator can be called up in the on-board computer Standard more or the on-board computer Plus more.

Before calling up the axle load indicator:

Park the vehicle on an even, level surface and apply the parking brake.

Move the chassis into the driving position more.

Switch off the pull-away aid (starting-off aid) more.

You can adjust the axle load indicator if there is a notable difference between the axle load indicator and the weighbridge results.
