Seats and berths
Seat adjustment
The vehicle may be
equipped with different types of seats depending on the cab and vehicle's
equipment.
Observe the operating instructions issued by the seat
manufacturer.

Adjusting the
driver's seat while driving can distract you from traffic conditions.
Unexpected movements of the seat could cause you to lose control of the vehicle
and cause an accident.
Only adjust the
driver's seat when the vehicle is stationary and the parking brake is
engaged.

When adjusting the seat, make sure that nobody can become trapped. The seat catches must engage audibly.
Your seat must be adjusted in such a way that you can wear your seat belt correctly.
Observe the following points:

Position the backrest as close to the vertical as possible.

Your arms should be slightly bent when you are holding the steering wheel.

The head restraint should support the back of your head at approximately eye level.
You will then reduce the risk of injury to your head and neck in the event of an accident or similar situation.

Seat positions that do not allow you to wear your seat belt correctly are a safety hazard and should therefore be avoided.
Failing to observe these instructions may lead to injury.
Maintain a distance to the pedals that allows you to depress them fully.
Before getting out of the vehicle, lower the seat fully using the vertical adjustment button / easy exit feature. Otherwise, there is a risk that the seat could rebound and trap your legs between the steering wheel and the seat.

Upper berth

Only use the upper berth when the vehicle is stationary. It is forbidden for anyone to use the upper berth while the vehicle is in motion.
Do not drive the vehicle unless the berth has been folded up and is secured by the retaining straps.
When folding the berth up or down, take care not to trap your fingers.

To avoid damage to
the berth and seats, tilt the driver's and co-driver's seat backrests
forward.

Lift the berth up
slightly, hold it in place and press the release buttons on the
buckles.

Fold the berth up
and hold it in place.

Push the tongues of
the retaining straps into the buckles until they engage
audibly.

If a person remains on the lower berth while the vehicle is in motion, they could fall down and injure themselves, e.g. during sudden braking or acceleration.
For this reason, the person must always be secured in the restraint system before the vehicle pulls away.
When folding the berth up/down, take care not to trap your fingers.

Rear bench seat

Never use the rear bench seat as a berth while the vehicle is in motion as there is no suitable retaining system.
The person lying there could otherwise fall and be injured when the driver brakes sharply or changes direction abruptly, or in the event of an accident.

If the vehicle is fitted with a rear bench seat, you can pull this out to form a berth.
Folding the backrest up/down

Only use the backrest as a berth when the vehicle is stationary. It is forbidden for anyone to remain on the backrest or berth while the vehicle is in motion.
Do not drive the vehicle unless the berth has been folded up and converted into a backrest.
When folding the backrest or berth up/down, take care not to trap your fingers.

Swing up the backrest.

Release the restraint system by pulling the locking knobs (right and left) out of the back of the backrest.

Swing the backrest to the horizontal position and hold it there.

Allow the belt tongues of the seat belt straps in the seat belt buckles (right and left) to engage in the roof.

Folding the berth down to form the backrest

Lift the berth up slightly, hold it in place and press the red release buttons on the buckles (right and left).

Release the retaining straps.
|

Swing up the berth.
|
| |
Fasten the restraint system to the backrest (back of the backrest).
|
| |
Swing the berth down to the cab rear panel.
